Do you have knee pain from osteoarthritis? A research study is looking for adults ages 45–80 to test a new injection for knee arthritis pain.

You are between 45 and 80 years old
You have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis with pain for at least 12 months
You have knee pain on more than 15 days in the past month
Your body mass index (BMI) is 40 or below
You have not received a steroid injection in the knee being studied in the past 3 months

About this study

This study is testing a new treatment for people who have painful knee osteoarthritis. It is designed to reduce inflammation that causes knee pain. The study will compare two different doses to a placebo (an inactive saline solution). All participants will also receive a single corticosteroid (steroid) injection in the knee before the study drug is given, to help reduce swelling.

If you join, you will receive one injection after you have been in the study about a month. After that, you will come back for regular check-up visits during the first year, and then have yearly follow-up visits and phone calls. Study-related visits, tests, and the study drug are provided at no cost to you. You also receive compensation for your time.

The study team will monitor your health closely throughout the entire study. Joining is completely voluntary, and you may leave at any time.
