About this study

This study is testing an investigational drug to see if it helps with weight loss and improves blood sugar levels in people who are living with obesity or overweight and have Type 2 diabetes. The medication is given as a once-weekly injection you give yourself at home.

You will be assigned by chance to receive either the study drug or placebo. You have about a 7-in-10 chance of receiving the study drug. During the study, you will visit the clinic about every 4 weeks, with some visits done online from home. You will also receive nutritional counseling and lifestyle support, plus a blood glucose meter and supplies to check your blood sugar daily.

The study lasts about 84 weeks (about 1 year and 8 months). All study drug, exams, and medical care related to the study are provided at no cost to you.
